‘World’s most sought…

Wade Wilson, 31, became known online as the “Deadpool Killer.” In a disturbing request, he once told police he would reveal where the body of one of the women he murdered was buried – but only if they bought him a bizarre fast-food order in exchange.

Netflix’s “Worst Ex Ever” is revisiting one of Florida’s most disturbing murder cases – the story of Wade Wilson, who became known online as the “Deadpool Killer”.

The second season of the true crime series includes an episode titled “Dating the Deadpool Killer,” which explores the 2019 murders of Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz, according to UNILAD. Wilson was found guilty of first-degree murder in June 2024, and two months later, a judge sentenced him to death for both killings.

The murders began after Wilson met Melton during a night out at a bar in Cape Coral on October 6, 2019. The pair later returned to her home alongside one of Melton’s friends. After the friend left, Wilson strangled the 35-year-old woman to death before stealing her car

“He’s got really dark eyes”

Police said Wilson later encountered Ruiz. According to investigators, he claimed she approached him asking for directions before getting into the vehicle.

“That’s all it took,” Wilson told police, according to UNILAD.

He later admitted he strangled Ruiz inside the car.

“I could tell she wanted to get out, so I was like, I’m just going to kill her real quick. Grabbed her by the neck and choked her,” he said.

Wilson also admitted Ruiz was still alive after the attack until he pushed her from the vehicle and ran her over.

“While talking to him, he’s got really dark eyes,” Detective Jones said in the documentary. “It’s almost like there was nothing there. There was no remorse, no empathy.”

Made bizarre food request

According to the documentary, the case took an even darker turn when Wilson allegedly offered to reveal where Ruiz’s body was buried – but only if detectives bought him fast food first.

Detective Nick Jones said Wilson called him while police were already at the scene where Ruiz’s body had been discovered in a field on October 10, 2019. Wilson reportedly did not know officers had already found her remains.

In a recorded call featured in the documentary, Wilson could be heard saying: “Might seem stupid. Give me some french fries and a burger, and I’m gonna take you right where you want to go. That’s all I want bro.”

Later in the conversation, he added: “You’re are going to take me to eat, so I’ll show you the body right? You’re going to get me some french fries? Let’s go get this body. Come on. It’s gonna get dark. I’m hungry.”

Speaking in the Netflix series, Jones said: “He wanted to trade a body for a meal.”

Worst Ex Ever – Dating the Deadpool Killer

The case gained widespread media attention after Wilson allegedly bragged about the murders to his father, Steven Testasecca, who later contacted authorities and testified against his son in court.

In one prison phone call featured in the documentary, Testasecca could be heard urging him to tell Ruiz’s family where her body was.

Wilson also made several disturbing comments to investigators about how he targeted women.

“This is what I do with women. I use my charm, I use my good looks,” he said. “That’s what I did with the first girl, and that’s how I got her into bed. And look what happened to her, same story as this. I just used my looks.”

Despite the brutality of the crimes, the documentary claims Wilson later received attention from hundreds of women attempting to contact him in prison.

In another recorded call, Wilson told one woman: “You know, they say that I’m the most sought after inmate in the world right now.”
