Several high-profile names contributed to the fundraiser. Among the largest donations were Zoe Saldana, who pledged $2,500 per month, Steven Spielberg, who donated $25,000, and Wicked director Jon M. Chu, who contributed $10,000, per BBC News.

Fans noticed the actor’s absence from the Oscars tribute
The actor, who rose to fame playing Dawson Leery from 1998 to 2003, was not included in the remembrance montage.
Per reports, the omissions came down to time constraints. The Academy had already extended the In Memoriam segment due to the large number of industry figures who died in the previous year, but there was still not enough time to include everyone.
However, both Van Der Beek and Dane were recognized at the recent Actor Awards, previously known as the SAG Awards.
